GC LICHTENAU

This is a story of a love-hate relationship. I play this course once a year because of the “Wöhrl for Kids” Golf Cup. I’ve never really managed this course. It`s long and tricky, some holes, like the 7, 8 and 9, are so difficult, I always mess up completely. Independently, this course is really lovely and has it’s own mystic golf moments. The tournament was at the next day, so I decided to play a practice round with a good friend of mine and take some pictures.

The first six holes are always fun to play. The first is a clear announcement of a par 4. The second a great par five with a hack of a third shot into a well protected green.

Almost every hole at GC Lichtenau is defended by nice bunkers. The first nine holes are easier to play except the 7, 8 and 9 – here you’ll never find an even ball lay.

The second nine are long and tough. If you’re not long enough it might be difficult to create a good score.

But my goodsundays signature hole is no.4, a par 4 with 326 m and some nice sand traps right in the driving zone, a testing second into the protected green. This hole gives me the impression what it would be like on an english course.

Altogether GC Lichtenau is an amazing golf course in the area around Nürnberg and it was in perfect shape like every time. But it will never be my best friend.

Have fun:
