New Kuta Golf

After Bali National and the exotic Handara Golf Resort, New Kuta Golf was the next stop during my stay in Bali.

Beside the Handara Golf Resort one of the oldest courses on beautiful Bali. I was very excited about playing New Kuta Golf  because of the fact that some holes are situated next to the ocean close to a famous surfing spot called Dreamland Beach.

This time we got one of the first tee times which I can really recommend to you because during the day it gets way to hot. Arriving at the clubhouse everything looked well in shape and the friendly stuff explained everything to us.

While we met our Caddies the cock´s crow and ran around the putting greens.

It was again hole No.10 and after hitting my first tee shot 5 meters hard left into the water the round finally started. My first holes on the second nine like No.10, No.11, No.13 and No.14 were extrem good except from the water disaster on todays first no.10. The course was in great conditions, fast and firm greens, unpredictable bouncy fairways and bunkers all over every hole were the cause for a lot of troubles.

Pretty special are the holes No.14, No.15 and No.16 because they are right along the ocean.

My signature hole on the back nine was No.16 a medium length par 5. The elevated teebox on a cliff with the booming sound of clashing waves makes the drive very special. Even by all the scenic views I focused myself on my swing and hit a quite good drive.

With a little help of the wind I took the fairway bunkers out of my play and got the chance to attack the green again with my second.

But I hit a terrible second and left myself like so often with a p wedge into the green. My advice here, don’t underestimate the wind. I did and my approach was way to long. The result was a long putt from almost behind the green to have the option to save par.

Well I did, thanks to the Caddies. I was listening the first time to them. I mean you always should because they know exactly what they´re talking about.

I finished the back nine and was again excited about the front nine. The first five holes were quite different to the back nine. Up the hill and away from the ocean. There are many nice approach shots down the hill into the fast greens. Well I just loved it.

For example hole No.3 a long par 4 whit 387m from the blue tees. I had a good day with the driver again and split the fairway. So I had a wonderful long 6 iron left down the hill.

To be honest it wasn’t my best but with an awesome flop shot and a two putt for bogey I was more than happy with this gorgeous hole.

I totally fall in love with No.7 my goodsundays.com signature hole at New Kuta golf on the front nine. A mid-length par 4 with 353m and index 4. You need to hit the ball a little bit more to the left side of the fairway to get a better angle to attack the green which is extrem tough defended by a group of bunkers. In my case I hit a hard fade and ended up in the rough on the right handside. Don’t ask me but somehow my ball made it with a strong 8 iron on the green and I was able to play par here.

I really loved playing New Kuta Golf. Everything was in great conditions and just perfect for a round of golf. So if you ever come to Bali make sure you won´t miss playing the New Kuta Golf Course. It’s highly recommended.
