The north course is the other deluxe golf course you need to play when you´re around the area of Quinta do Lago.

The first tee of the north course is also located next to the clubhouse of Quinta do Lago and within a short walking distance from the beautiful Monte da Quinta Resort. There are even more courses at the area of Quinta do Lago and the Monte da Quinta Resort opening up unlimited golfing pleasure at any time.

Like every day I enjoyed the delicious breakfast with its great variety. From poached eggs to fine pastries, just like a poem. After the breakfast I walked over to the first tee of the north course. What an awesome first shot. With its tee box high above the fairway, No. 1 is already one of my favorite holes.

After a very nice conversation with the starter I hit probably my best drive during the whole rip. Boom, just 15 yards left to the green. Even the starter was surprised. I jumped into the cart and listened to his words: „pitch and putt for birdie, Amigo“. Well, I couldn´t fulfill the announcement but I walked of with par. The next five holes of the north course are just amazing. No. 2 a par 3 over the water.

No. 3 a nice and straight par 5 with bunkers on the left and right side of the fairway and a well defended putting surfaces. The greens of the north course of Quinta do Lago were in the same divine conditions like on the south course. Also the fact that almost every hole is different is great fun. Creativity and skills are recommended. Like so often I was in some kind of golf meditation mood.

I got really attracted by the finishing holes. Starting with No. 12 a crazy dogleg to the left with water all over the left side. To much right makes it impossible to attack the hole. But I hit a good one from the tee. A long iron over the huge water hazard and I walked of again with par.

Well, of course I was very proud by this insane hole but as so often the best comes for last. No. 16 a short par 3 where two things occur to me „just amazing“. No. 17 a dream of a par 4 and No. 18 an amazing blast. A relatively short par 5 dogleg to the right with just 445 meters from the white tees but you have to hit your drive over the water hazard, straight up to the bend.

You can hit a 3 wood or an iron. I prefered to lay it up and took the chance for a good short PW. but the green is way to good protected by all the bunkers. This hole is really a beauty and a beast at the same time. But anyway, I was proud again to play par here.

In summary Quinta do Lago north was fantastic, amazing and gorgeous. A top golf course nestled in a top area. Highly recommended for any type of player.
