Taylormade M4

Well I know the new golfing season is right around the corner with all it‘s new equipment and gadgets. And that‘s exactly why I am writing this post, because it‘s somehow also possible to play good golf with old clubs. Last fall I went to Borgo Egnazia and got to try the TaylorMade M4 during my stay. Anyone who‘s seen me golf will be able to tell that my driving game ain‘t my specialty. Ok, sometimes I will accidentally rip one out that isn‘t even short, but most drives end up left or right or anyfuckingwhere. So at Borgo Egnazia`s San Domenico course I was using rental clubs. The M4 series by TaylorMade. And guess what happened: 100% of the fairways hit on the front nine at even par.

An absolutely outstanding feeling, being a 13 handicap. I really had a completely positive feeling with the M4 from the get go. I have to admit, that I usually don‘t think very much of stock clubs, but this stick must have somehow fit me perfectly and I immediately enjoyed the great feedback. I absolutely like the weight of the club head and the design. I know maybe it‘s just clever marketing, but also the TwistFace technology seems to be working well for me.

Unfortunately I ended up hitting a couple of bad iron shots on the back nine of San Domenico, but still managed to shoot 79 with a total of four birdies. That‘s what caused me to throw one of these babies in my bag right away. On top of that, the design is just super nice and will work nicely with my „BAG in BLACK“ project. If you‘re interested in the specs of my M4, here‘s some data:

– Loft: 9,5

– Shaft: Fujikura ATMOS — 5 S-Flex

– Griff: Standart  / Plus one Tape

– Hosel setting: STD Loft / neutral.

I can‘t wait for winter to end and to hang out more on those now snow covered fairways!
