Tiburón Golf Club

Entering the clubhouse of Tiburón GC you feel the spirit of Greg Norman – a traditional club with a sportive mood. I could spend hours on the perfect driving range where you find high end balls on a very wide layout.

Luckily I got a tee time on the Gold Course of Tiburón GC where the PGA players normally perform. Me and my clubfitters from HIO Fitting decided to go for the Champion Tees as this course is difficult enough. On the first holes you have to deal a lot with narrow tee boxes and at least water next to one side of the fairway.

Not too good for my Vice ball balance. Managed to play some bogeys and pars on the front nine because I could rely on my bunker game. By the way – never seen such bunkers before … clear white fluffy sand – kind of a Caribbean feeling.

Hole number 9 of Tiburón GC was probably my “signature hole” – from the tee box to the green water hazard on both sides. Just played a hybrid to keep me in play and ended up on the left side of the fairway.

Next one again a layup because the green is surrounded by huge bunkers. For the third one about 60m were left – roasted one on the dance floor and saved par. Definitely a hole were most of golfers are happy with a bogey

On the back nine we got great light as it was already late afternoon. However I started with a socket on the 10th I could recover and saved one point with a double bogey.

Decided to unpack my driver more often on the back nine as I normally love this club. Unfortunately we missed hole 17 and 18 which both looked like two amazing and very difficult holes.

Hope to have the chance of playing such a great course again and finish my round. Definitely a place to be when you stop by at Naples!
