A perfect kick off for your golf trip to Cascais would be Belas Clube de Campo. It only takes 30 minutes to get to the 18-hole championship course from the Lisbon Airport. Beautifully located in the hills of Sintra, Belas Clube de Campo offers everything you need as a golfer.

A state of the art driving range, a very challenging course that goes up and down the hills and a modern clubhouse. The course can get really tough though and might put you on your knees, if you don‘t find the fairways. Every hole has perfectly placed bunkers and you‘re gonna forget about shooting low very soon into your round. What‘s really cool and unique is that every single hole‘s design relates to some famous golf course all over the world. No. 2 for example, also being my goodsundays.com signature hole, is fittingly called Augusta.

Since this is probably as close as I‘m ever gonna get to the real deal, I‘ll walk you trough this beauty. The 497 meter Par5‘s layout is all about Azalea, Augusta‘s famous 13th hole. Your tee shot needs to be left and clear of the two ball magnet sand traps, as if it wasn‘t hard enough for me already.

The second shot will be a layup, because attacking the green with a 3-wood looks like a total Hail Mary from there.

It‘s the little creek right in front of the green, running diagonally through the fairway, that will only let you feel safe with a little pitch onto the long and narrow dance floor. And man those greens were fast when I played Belas Clube de Campo. Unfortunately I only had time for nine holes at Belas Club de Campo, but those were amazing.

I gotta admit I sucked big time, but it was still super relaxing, even though there‘s lots of houses along the fairways. Not every one a true eye catcher, but then I didn‘t come here for the real estate. Quality wise Belas Clube de Campo was a true champ.

Fast greens and well maintained bunkers. Really nothing to complain about at all. I can‘t wait to come back and play all of the 18 holes. It‘s really a fun course even though it might be hard to score.
